Golf is as much a mental game as it is a physical sport, which makes planning each shot an important factor in the overall success. In this video lesson, Tim Cooke shares a pre-shot routine that will provide effective results.
First, it is important to examine the shot including all of the surroundings such as water, bunkers and the approximate distance to the hole. Next, define a specific target, which can basically be anything in the distance. This will help the mind and body to focus on an isolated point on the green.
After choosing a target, rehearse the shot and visualize where it will land. After this routine, you will be able to commit to the shot with confidence.
