In this video golf lesson, Pete Cowan discusses rotation, which is an often forgotten but no less important element of the golf swing.
Many golfers become too preoccupied with the position of the club throughout the swing, and they forget to properly rotate their bodies. This can result in a loss of power, and it makes the hands overactive.
At the beginning of the swing, hips and shoulders are parallel, but during the backswing, the hips will stop turning before the shoulders. On the downswing, the hips start turning first and the shoulders will follow. Proper rotation is necessary for stability in the swing.
